DIY remedies to treat coughs & colds


Got a sniffle, sore throat, coughing up a lung?

Here’s my favourite super easy go to remedies for boosting your immunity and getting you feeling your vibrant self again :)

All you have to do is add all ingredients in a small tea-pot and pour in the boiling water. Be sure to let your tea steep with a lid for at least 5 minutes before you drink it to ensure all the ingredients are extracted.

Drink, enjoy and repeat 4-5 times

Sea Salt Gargle

Such a simple and cheap option, warm salty water is the best gargle to flush out bacteria lingering in your throat. Simply add salt and water to a cup and gargle for 20 seconds. Repeat until glass is empty.

· 1 teaspoon sea salt (not table salt)

· 1/4 cup warm water

Immune Bestie

An infusion of sweet, spice and zing. Immune Bestie has the warming, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antibacterial actions to warn off bugs and nasties hanging around..

· 1/2 clove raw garlic (peeled & chopped)

· ½ teaspoon fresh ginger thinly sliced

· ½ teaspoon honey

· juice of ½ freshly squeezes lemon

· 1 cup boiling water

Savoury Soother

An infusion of herbaceous elements. The herbs in this blend are have strong antimicrobial and antibacterial actions, which help fight those nasty bugs attacking your immunity.

· 1 sprig thyme

· 1 sprig rosemary

· 1 sprig sage

· 1 cup boiling water

Sweetly Spiced

An infusion of sweet, spice and zing. Immune Bestie has the warming, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antibacterial actions. The honey helps to coat your irritated throat too..

· ½ teaspoon honey

· 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

· ¼ teaspoon cinnamon

· ¼ teaspoon fennel seed

· 1 cup boiling water
