Risks of contraceptive implants (IUDs). Anyone have one?

The birth control hormonal intrauterine device (IUD) has grown popular because it can protect against pregnancy for up to 5 years. But MANY women may suffer from severe side effects including:

  • persistent pain,

  • abnormal and heavy menstrual periods,

  • the device/coils moving outside the fallopian tubes,

  • spontaneous migration of the device and puncture/perforation of the uterus.

  • pelvic Inflammatory disease,

  • copper toxicity symptoms include headaches, fatigue, insomnia, depression, skin rashes, spaciness or premenstrual syndrome, fibroids and endometriosis.

  • bacterial infections leading to hysterectomies…are you getting the gist!!!

Sadly I haven’t come across a client yet that hasn’t suffered from one or more of these symptoms. So it’s really important to consider is the risks of using an IUD worth it.'
