Are You a Walking Zombie?

Sick of feeling drained and tired? Hazy concentration? Feeling flat, forgetful or foggy? No pep in your step?

It seems everyone who comes to see me at the Your Health Revolution Clinic is worn out, tired and lacking pep in their step.

With endless work demands, social commitments and household obligations there is mounting pressures placed on our bodies daily. People push themselves past the point of exhaustion so regularly causing increased stress on the body. This long-term pressure can deplete the adrenal glands (responsible for regulating every kind of stress - physical, emotional or psychological) and trigger adrenal burnout – a condition called adrenal fatigue.

It's not normal to be feeling drained and tired all the time but this is typically the main symptom for people suffering with adrenal fatigue.

Do you feel exhausted day after day even after a seriously good night's sleep? Do you rely on coffee, energy drinks or stimulating carbonated drinks like coke or pepsi to provide energy needed to get through the day?

These are key traits of those experiencing adrenal fatigue.

Adrenal Fatigue Symptoms

Do you experience one or more of the following:

  • Feeling tired and drained all the time no matter how much you sleep

  • Morning fatigue or haziness and not really feeling awake until after 10AM

  • You feel more awake, alert and energetic after 6PM than you do all day

  • Feeling flat, moody, anxious, overwhelmed or down

  • Cravings for sugary, sweet or salty foods

  • Reliance on coffee or energy drinks to boost your energy

  • Difficulty concentrating, poor memory or coping under stress

  • Difficulty losing weight or increased weight around your belly

  • Decreased sex drive or hormonal imbalances (worse PMS or erratic period cycles)

  • Poor circulation (really cold hands and feet, sensitivity to the cold or hot flushes)

  • Constantly feeling rundown (recurrent cold, headaches, infection or virus)

  • Digestive upset (bloating, gassy, reflux, irritable bowel or constipated)

  • Sleepiness around 9 – 10PM but you resist going to sleep and gain a second wind at 11PM that lasts until about 1AM

  • Dark circles under your eyes

How to identify if your adrenals are fatigued

The recommended test for identifying adrenal fatigue is a 24-hour saliva test, which measures your stress hormones (cortisol and DHEA).

This comprehensive test is conducted through the Your Health Revolution Clinic.
