Today I noticed people yawning left, right and centre at all times of the day! Seeing all this yawning triggered me to start…but I wasn’t even tired.
Almost 50% of adults yawn after seeing someone yawn and it doesn’t even have to be in person. It could be a picture of someone yawning or even reading the word YAWN.
This chain reaction is due to a universal phenomenon, contagious yawning, a response to seeing, hearing, or even thinking about yawning. Which differs from spontaneous yawning occurring from boredom or when someone is tired.
